ΔΗΜΑ[Ρ•Χ•ЄΞ ΥΠΑ]ΤΟC Eagle with spread wings standing facing, head to right and holding wreath in beak; between legs, shrine. Prieur 852. Struck somewhat off center and with some flan faults, otherwise, good very fine.



As noted by Prieur, the portrait of Macrinus in the earliest issues from Edessa is still clearly reminiscent of that of his predecessor, Caracalla.
